During Lent: The Rosary

As I was creating this drawing, I was thinking of my grandmother.  She seemed frail and weak but that disguise a powerful strength that I'm not sure I have.  She was president of the Rosary Society for her Polish parish for 50 years.  That's a lot of prayers.  I wonder how many of those prayers were directed my way.  How many younger people are spiritual wimps?

During Lent #2: Prayer Through Art

During Lent, I fasted, prayed and created.  I was thinking about all the unseen protection of prayers as I created this image.  During Lent this year, I may try this again.  Instead of giving up something, give up your normal routine.  

During Lent, I also find it is a good time to read through Saint Faustina's Diary.

During Lent #1

I created this image during lent.  During lent, in addition to prayer and fasting, I started to create images based on blacks and white, good and evil.  These are some of the sketches that came out of the experiment.  They are my "During Lent" studies.  

Saint Peter the Rock Image

"You are Kepha and on this very kepha I will build my Church." 

As I learn more about my faith, I am creating artwork to go with the things I am learning.  This is a pretty strong argument to me that Peter is the rock that the church is built upon.
